Intermediate to Advanced
For those that are wanting to go bigger and can centre and make a stable bowl /cylinder using 2kgs or more you will learn varying methods of throwing sections and how to join/shape them using different techniques. Learn to throw in 2/3/4 or more sections.
If you can handle larger amounts of clay you can go big.
Courses will be run at John’s studio in Moorooduc on the Mornington Peninsula. Excellent facilities featuring all new Shimpo Whisper Wheels and adjustable seats.

Places are limited with a Max of 8, Min of 5 for Workshops to go ahead.

MATERIALS
BYO Clay. Due to the nature of the course participants need to supply their own clay as we want to work with clays that you normally use. While this course is a skill based course and not production based bisque firing is available for selected work if needed.

John Stroomer
Described as a virtuoso of the potters wheel John Stroomer has held over thirty 2 and 5 day international workshops in the UK Europe and India as well as several international zoom workshops from his studio on the Mornington Peninsula.
He has had wide experience with stoneware and porcelain clays, gas reduction, electric, wood and salt kilns.
John has been a potter for over 50 years, employing 23 potters plus apprentices during the 1980s and 90s and is highly regarded for his skills as a potter and as teacher.
